为什么有时候感觉祈祷了也不灵呢？

智广阿阇梨答：

灵不灵，不能用你的标准去衡量。事实上，当你发出祈祷的时候，佛陀的回应就已经来临，而且一定是最及时、最适合你的，但不一定是符合你心意的，这点大家要明白。

千万不要认为没有实现自己的心愿就是不灵，其实你的心愿不一定是对你有好处的。就像小孩子要吃糖，你一定要给他糖吃吗？有智慧的父母是不会满足孩子所有愿望的，有智慧的老师也是如此，何况是佛呢？你其实不知道什么是对自己最有好处的，但佛是知道的，因为佛是遍知。所以，佛会给你最适合你的加持，你要相信这一点。

佛对众生的加持，是怎样能真正对众生暂时与究竟的利益有好处，就怎样加持。而不是顺着你的意，完全满足你的我执。

如果你的心愿总是在巩固我执，希望实现自己的妄想，那是跟生命的觉醒和觉悟完全背道而驰的。你要迷惑，佛要让你觉悟，你说佛能全满你的愿吗？

所以，不管有什么结果，你都要坚持念经、坚持修法、坚持祈祷，然后坦然接受一切，坚信一切都是佛菩萨最好的安排。千万不要想着“为什么还不灵，为什么还没实现心愿”，如果这样想，就是把心跟佛的加持力隔开了，这是很多人常有的错误想法。其实，当你这么想的时候，就真的不灵了。为什么呢？因为有怀疑的心。

大悲咒有无穷的功德，为何一些人念了没有效果？《千手千眼观世音菩萨广大圆满无碍大悲心陀罗尼经》里面说到了原因：“唯除一事，于咒生疑者。”只因为有怀疑，所以就得不到加持。

Why my prayer does not work sometimes?

Answered by Acharya Zhiguang:

Whether your prayers are working or not should not be decided by your own judgement. In fact, the Buddha just responds the instant you say a prayer. Such a response is certainly given in the timeliest way that suits you the best, though it may not come in the way you want. This is what we should understand.

Do NOT think that a prayer does not work simply because our wishes are not fulfilled. In fact, what you wish for is not necessarily good for you. For example, will you always give sweets to your child when he asks for them? Those wise parents will not grant every wish of their child, and the same is true for those wise teachers, not to mention the Buddha. Actually, you just don’t know what is really good for you. The Buddha, however, knows it because he is omniscient. So the Buddha will bestow the blessings that suit you the most. It is a fact that you must have faith in.

The Buddha grants the blessings in such a way that can bring genuine benefits to the sentient beings temporarily and ultimately, rather than in a way that only satisfies your self-attachment as you wish.

If your wishes are always intended for building up your self-attachment in the hope of realizing your illusory expectations, then they will take you in the completely opposite direction to the awakening and enlightenment of life. You want to get yourself messed up, while the Buddha wants to enlighten you. Then, do you think the Buddha will fulfill all your wishes?

So, you need to keep reading the sutras, practicing and praying and then accept everything calmly no matter what results may come out. You should firmly believe that everything is the best arrangement by the Buddha and Bodhisattvas. Never wonder why your prayers are still not answered and why your wishes are not fulfilled. You separate your mind from the blessings of the Buddha if you do think that way — a wrong way of thinking that many people usually have. In fact, your prayer really does not work if you think that way. Why? It is because you have doubts in your mind.

The Great Compassion Mantra has infinite merits. But why do some people fail to achieve anything after reciting it? The reason for this is explained in the Sutra of Thousand-Handed and Thousand-Eyed Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva’s Vast, Perfect, Unimpeded, Great-Compassionate Heart Dharani as follows: “The only exception is those who have doubts in the Mantra.” It is because of their doubts that these people cannot receive the blessings.

祈りが答えられたと実感できない時があるのはなぜでしょうか？

智廣阿闍梨回答：

祈りが答えられたかどうかは自分の基準で判断するのではありません。実際は、祈願をした時に既に佛様の応えを頂いているのです。それも、それは折に適った時期に、一番相応しい答えが与えられます、それがあなたの思い通りとは限りません。そのことを心に留めておきましょう。

決して、自分の思い通りに実現しなかったからといって祈りが聞かれなかったと思ってはいけません。あなたの願う事があなたにとって一番良いとは限らないからです。例えば、子供が飴を食べたいからといって、親はその要求通りに飴をあげるでしょうか？知恵のある父母は子供の思う通りの要求を全て満たすことはありません。智慧のある先生もそうです、それなら仏様は尚更でしょう。あなたは何が自分とって一番利益のあることなのか分りません。しかし、佛様は遍知ですので、全てをご存じです。それなので、佛様があなたにとって一番相応しい加持をしてくれる事を信じましょう。

佛様は衆生にとって一時的、また究竟的に真の利益になることを加持してくださいます。それは、あなたの意に従い、あなたの我執を満たすことではありません。

もし、あなたの願いがいつも自分の我執を強固し、自分の妄想を実現させる為だけなら、生命の覚醒と悟りから完全に逆の道を歩んでいることになります。あなたに迷いがあり、佛様があなたに覚悟をさせようとしているなら、あなたの希望通りに全て答えるわけがありません。

ですから、結果がどうあろうと、読経し、修法し、祈願することに努力し続けて、一切の物事を平然と受け入れましょう。全ては仏菩薩の最も良いご計画なのです。なぜ答えられた確信が持てないのか、なぜ願いがかなわないのかと考えてはなりません。そのようなことを考えると、自分の心と佛様の加持を隔てることになります。多くの人がこのような間違った考えをもっています。事実、このように考えると本当に答えを頂けなくなります。なぜならそれは心に疑いがあるからです。

大悲心陀羅尼は無上な功徳がありが、なぜ唱えても全ての人に効果が出るわけではないのかというと、『千手千眼観自在菩薩広大円満無碍大悲心陀羅尼経』の中にその原因が解いてあります。｢一つだけ除く、それは咒に疑を持つ者｣。疑いを持つ事、それこそが加持を得ることができない理由なのです。
