我们常说凡夫“发心容易恒时难”，如何保持道心坚定？

智广阿阇梨答：

根据我30多年来学佛的经验，我认为最重要的是依止良师益友。打个比方，如果一个人在半夜前往从未去过的原始森林中的某个地方，我想几乎很难顺利到达目的地。但如果此时有一个熟悉路线的向导为你带路，同时你有很清晰的地图，另外还有30个同伴陪你一同前往，这样一来，就没什么好担心的了，再困难的路也能比较顺利地到达。

修行的道路也是一样，向导就是善知识，善知识所教导的佛法就是地图，同伴就是同修道友。如果我们具备了这三个条件，就可以保持道心坚定，乃至究竟解脱成佛。

在三个条件中，最根本、最重要的是如理如法地依止一位具德的善知识。学佛就是不断削弱乃至放下我执的过程，依止具德善知识是最近、最轻松的一条路。一位具德的善知识传授给你的一定是最适合你的修行方法，我们按此修行成就会比较快。在菩提的道路上想要走得稳、少走弯路、不退转，最好的方法就是如法依止具德善知识。

Question:

We always say that it is easy for ordinary people to aspire to enlightenment, but it is hard for them to keep the aspirations all the time. So how can we remain persistent on our resolution to enlightenment?

Answered by Acharya Zhiguang:

I think, based on my thirty years of experience in studying the Dharma, that the most important thing is we should rely on good teachers and friends. For example, in the middle of the night, a person is heading to an unknown place in the virgin forest. It is almost impossible for him to arrive smoothly. However, if you go there with a guide who is familiar with the route, with a clear map together with 30 companions, then you will have nothing to worry about and you will be able to get there easily no matter how tough the journey may be. The same is true for the path of enlightenment. The guide is our good teacher; the Dharma that he teaches is the map; and the companions are those Dharma friends who study with you. With these three conditions completed, we will be able to stay persistent in seeking the Dharma, and finally attain Buddhahood.

The most fundamental and important condition among the three is to follow a qualified teacher in the correct way. Dharma study is a process continuously reducing our self-attachment till we finally give it all up. The fastest and easiest way to do so is to follow a qualified teacher. A qualified teacher will be able to teach you in the right way just for you, which will help you become successful in a shorter time. The best way for us to stay firmly on the path of enlightenment without making many detours or moving backwards is to follow a qualified teacher in the correct manner.

質問：

凡夫は「発心は容易だが常に維持するのは難しい」と私たちはよく言いますが、道心をゆるぎなく保持するにはどのようにしたらよいのでしょうか？

智廣阿闍梨回答：

３０数年間にわたり仏教を学んだ経験から、私が最も重要だと思うのは、良き友や良き師に依止するということです。

たとえば、もし真夜中に、行ったこともないジャングルの中のある場所に、独りきりで向かうとしたら、順調に目的地に到着する事はとても難しいと思います。しかし、もしその時ジャングルを熟知するガイドが道案内をし、明瞭な地図を持ち、そのほかに３０人ほどの同志があなたと共に道を歩めば、何も心配はありません。どんなに困難な道のりでも順調にたどり着くことができるでしょう。

修行の道も同様です。ガイドは善知識、善知識が指南する仏法は地図、同志は修行の友です。もし私たちがこの３つの条件を備えるなら、道心を堅く保持することができ、究竟解脱し成仏に至る事ができるでしょう。 この３つの条件の中で、最も根本的で重要なことは、仏法の教えに従いひとりの徳のある善知識に依止することです。仏教を学ぶということは、絶えず我執を弱め、我執を捨て去るまでの道のりであり、徳のある善知識に依止することは、一番の近道であり、気楽な道です。ひとりの徳のある善知識は、あなたにとって最適な修行方法を教授してくれるはずなので、それに従い修行すれば効率的でしょう。菩提の道を穏やかに、なるべく遠回りをしないように、後戻りせずに歩むための一番良い方法は、仏法に従い徳のある善知識に依止することでしょう。
